It is proposed that the validation of the NEO follows a three-phase programme in South Africa.
1. Obtaining the basic data and biographical
information from the group of NEO users who have already been utilising
the NEO. This will enable us to start developing norms and to ascertain
the internal consistency of the instrument across a broad cross-section
of the population.
2. A formal PAI-initiated validation study
using South African experts. We would need help from the User Group members
to obtain a sample and validation criteria.
3. The development and validation of a South African
version of the NEO, with South African norms, reliability coefficients
and validity.
